Practice Safe Nursing PHIMS Do’s & Don’ts
Authorized health care professionals use PHIMS (The Public Health Information Management System) to update, analyze and share critical information to manage health problems in Manitoba. PHIMS is a secure, integrated electronic public health record that contains important public health information maintained by Manitoba Health. The information within PHIMS is protected by the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), which is a health sector specific privacy law that establishes rules that trustees of personal health information must follow when collecting, using, disclosing, maintaining and destroying personal health information. Shared health has created a PHIMS Do’s & Don’ts chart to assist health care professionals in the use of this important electronic tool. Download Chart: PHIMS Do’s and Don’ts
